Ksôkong Tsùn in Taiwan Raindrops fall in the mountain and travel through Ksôkong Tsùn Irrigation System, intertwined with culture, art, economy, and memory, narrated a tale of the city, and contributing to the livability of people's everyday life. For nearly two hundred years, the water system witnesses the growth and transit of a city within a rapidly growing context in eastern Asia. Begining from folktales that picture a mayor battled with dragons to make ways for water, and the locals made deals with wonderer to temped a lingering ghost around a pond, on the landscape of an alluvial plain, water accommodated a variety of human activities. Food yield, settlement arrangement, daily leisure, and religious beliefs, ways of living evolved intensely around the landscape. Water obtained from the river by a dam, regulated using inlets, directed through ditches, then transported to irrigate rice fields, following natural topography, weaved an aquatic landscape to flourish a circular system.
